SRG Software Update - April 2020

While so many industries are being negatively impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, SRG remains viable as information technology and healthcare are currently in overdrive. Expedient and smart solutions are needed in response to emergent demands and SRG has seen only a minor drop in customer project activity resulting from the financial downturn.

We are responding to the situation by leveraging our experience in rapid healthcare solutions development and telehealth experience for existing and new customers, and by offering some pro bono services for various digital solutions related to mitigating the pandemic. Because of our pre-existing virtualized work model, there has been little or no impact on SRG’s productivity.

Please reach out if you have any questions or thoughts on how we might be of further assistance to you or any of your affiliated organizations and colleagues.  As is likely with your businesses, our best prospects come from referrals!

RECENT PROJECTS

COVID-19 Innovations
In response to the coronavirus, SRG is part of a USA based volunteer team creating a unique mobile application that enables individuals to voluntarily report diagnoses and symptoms so that real-time social distancing precision can be vastly augmented and improved.

We are also proud to announce that SRG’s software development team has supported our 5-year customer partner, MD Revolution, in joining forces with Electronic Caregiver to enable Remote Patient Monitoring in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Continued Healthcare Focus
Building on our 30-plus year story in healthcare information technology, we continue to maintain a tight focus on healthcare, including the development and support of contemporary digital health and care management solutions.

In addition to our continually evolving existing customer partnerships, we have several new software engagements for customer partners in the following domains:

  • At-home senior care management and coordination

  • Health plan membership and engagement rewards

  • Advance care planning

  • Surgery scheduling workflow optimization

Intelligent HIPAA-compliant alerts and incident response management

Expansion to New Verticals and Technologies
We are excited to have recently expanded into other vertical markets serving customer partners in the following areas:

  • eSports

  • Enhanced mobile gaming

  • Inventory control/supply chain management

Our most recent engagements have provided the opportunity for SRG to employ emerging technologies such as:

  • Serverless architecture

  • Augmented reality

  • Novel advanced analytics

  • Machine learning/reasoning

We’ve also expanded into a broad array of contemporary cloud-services from Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, which greatly enhance development velocity, time-to-market for new products and features, interoperability with other systems, and overall software solution stability and scalability.

TELEHEALTH IS ON THE RISE

With the recent lifting of Medicare telehealth restrictions to support the current health emergency, we are assisting clients to integrate telehealth functionality into their existing healthcare software solutions.

If you or any colleagues need assistance in this area, we can help accelerate with our onshore/offshore expert services at discounted rates.

OUR TEAM

SRG’s Team has expanded to over 70 Portugal and USA based resources with world-class developers, designers, testers, project managers, scrum masters, and cloud services architects, located in Minneapolis, Denver, Dallas, Portugal, and Eastern Europe.

Welcome to our newest User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Specialist, Tess Kullberg. Tess is located in Minneapolis, MN and we are excited to have her as part of our quality assurance team.

OUR CULTURE: COMPANY-WIDE AGILITY

SRG uses a highly adaptive form of organizational development/communication known as “sociocracy”. This is similar to the approach adopted by tech giants Netflix and Spotify, which is a self-directed team approach to management.

Sociocracy helps teams work smarter and more efficiently through an open flow of real-time feedback and collaborative decision making. We are finding that now, more than ever, our culture of equivalence, continuous learning and transparent communication serve to support resilience through these times of rapid change.

NO-SHORE = OFFSHORE DONE BETTER

Given the growing shortage of software development and information technology resources in the USA (projected 1.4 million jobs that can’t be filled domestically in 2020), outsourced offshore development is an imperative consideration for most technology and tech-enabled businesses.

By merging offshore technical and design resources in Portugal with USA based project management, business analysis, and execution resources, our no-shore model has proven highly effective for our customers - delivering world-class technical capability at deeply discounted rates compared to USA based resources.
