SRG CONTRIBUTES TO COVID-19 APP DEVELOPMENT

Since March 2020, SRG Software has been donating time to help the non-profit organization Aydia develop an app that provides a hyperlocal, “neighborhood level” view of coronavirus cases globally. Aydia shows a real-time visual heat map of COVID-19 hot spots, providing an ability to zoom down to a zip code level. The application also features test site locations, anonymous self reporting, anonymous contact tracing, and alerts and warnings.

“VUCA” SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

VUCA stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. It’s a term that’s been around since the late 80’s, but it seems that it’s never been more relevant than the times we are living in. Organizations are increasingly needing to adapt to the ever-changing landscape and context of our world - and technology is at the forefront of the rate of change.

According to Ashridge Professor Vicki Culpin, leaders need to develop the resilience to keep going when everything around them is constantly changing. She proposes five skills that are vital to be able to lead successfully in a VUCA world:

1. Developing a shared purpose

2. Learning agility

3. Self-awareness

4. Leading through collaboration and influence

5. Confidence to lead through uncertainty

Over SRG’s 30+ years working with information technology, our team has developed the capacities that allow us to meet the demands of our clients’ complex and ever-changing needs. Our strong and continuous communication within our teams and with our clients is proving to be a key asset in these times.
